Okay guys, time for yet another review by VBBN! Today I shall be reviewing se 8910 Kongu Mahri. The first few pictures are a little flushed out, and I am terribly sorry for that. I have taken what comments I recieved in the last review and I have put them to use in this review. So anywho, I recieved this set with the other 5 toa mahri, and I have to say, He is my second favorite. So, sit back and read the review! Enjoy!
Set name: Toa Kongu Mahri
Number: 8910
Pieces: 64
Year Released: 2007
Theme: Bionicle
Team: Toa Mahri
Colors: Mata red, dark green, trans-lime green, dark gray, silver, mata blue.
1/The Box
The box displays the set information, and shows the various functions in the set. These include the turret, and the cordak blaster.
Next, you remove two pieces of tape, which reveals a plastic-and-cardboard packet, and a plastic frame.
2/Contents
Here we have the contents! Instructions, the cardboard piece(part of it, pic cut it off), a bag containig parts, loose pieces, and the empty container. This is the first time we have seen a bag in a canister set in Bionicle. It was very interesting to see this change. The loose pieces consist of his Cordak Revolving Blasters, and an air tube.
Instructions:
Very crisp and clear.

The inventory:
Here we have the interesting/new pieces. And there are quite a few. Firstly, we have metru limbs(not pictured) in dark gray, Hordika arms, green inika thigh armor, and green rahkshi feet. Also, we have a NEW torso, a new eyepiece, the cordak blaster, the cordak ammo, an air tube, and his knohi mask. And a few system pices are pictured as well. :classic:
3/Build
Okay, now the pics get better. Finaly, we get a new torso. This is a nice change from the inika torsos for sure. One thing that intrigued me was that you use two hordika gear arms, and plug them in to create the arm's ball joints.
The legs:
The legs are short, but them certainly suit the mutated Kongu.
Mask:
I always love new masks, and this one is no exception. It is really nice, and has some interesting details in it. Also of interest is that you plug the system pieces to the back of the eyepiece, to create an air tank.
The arms are okay, nothing new, but the do use dark gray metru limbs. (Then, all you have to do is add in the ammo!)
I didn't take a back view, but here is the action pose:
Bonus:
Also of interest, is that you can make the plastic frame a turret, and that you can use the canister as a Status tank.
Parts: 9.5/10(Lot's of new and recolored pieces! I am not fond of metru thigh armor.)
Playability: 9.5/10(It's an action figure. And the dual cordak blasters make for some fun. But he doesn't have all of the movements that a biomechanical creature should.)
Price-to-piece ratio: 7.5/10(Average for Bionicle. Mast of it is cordak.)
Overall: 26.5/30 88% B+*
Kongu Mahri is very nice set! He may not be that simialr to his previous versions, but the striking color scheme of Dark gray and dark green, with the extra red really stands out, and it doesn't ruin the color scheme for me. I would highly recommend Kongu Mahri if you can find him. Bionicle fans will love this set, and I'm sure system fans who like action figures would like this set.
As always, don't hesitate if you have questions, pic requests, etc.! I look forward to you comments.
